Abstract

1358327 Pouring apparatus NIPPON KOKAN KK TOKYO YOGYO KK and KOKANKIKAI KOGYO KK 7 March 1972 [12 Nov 1971] 10503/72 Heading F4B A rotary nozzle assembly for a ladle for molten metal comprises an upper nozzle 4, a non- rotatable upper disc 5, an operational rotatable lower disc 6, said lower disc having bores therethrough in communication with a plurality of lower nozzles 10, and a rotor 13 supporting said lower disc and nozzles 10. The assembly also includes drive means for rotating the rotor, in the form of a bevel gear 18 having an opening 20 at its centre to receive the rotor 13, a smaller bevel gear 21 which engages the said gear 18, a reducing gear 22, and a coupling 23 to the driving shaft of a heat resistant motor 24. A main frame 16 which supports the bevel gear 18, is also provided with a releasable stop mechanism to permit the removal of the rotor 13 attached to said frame. The stop mechanism comprises a plurality of levers 25, each pressing the rotor 13 upwardly, a pin 26 provided on the plate 17 and engaged in a recess 27, and a roller 28 mounted for free rotation on the end of lever 25 which rotates in contact with a projecting flange 14 of the rotor 13. A spring 32 urges, with the aid of the pin, the roller 28.into contact with the flange 14. A screw rod in a universal bracket 36 moves the rollers into and out of contact with flange 14.
