Abstract

1357951 Alarm clocks B NEWTON 8 Feb 1972 [16 Feb 1971] 4786/71 Heading G3T In a spring operated alarm clock having a lever 10 which is actuated by the alarm mechanism to release the alarm at a pre-set time, the alarm may be delayed for twelve or twenty-four hours by appropriate setting of a wheel or disc 11 which is driven by the clock train and restrains the lever 10 except when one of two peripheral gaps 12 is opposite thereto. The wheel 11 is fixed to a pinion 15 which is engaged by pins 14 on hour wheel 13 so that the wheel 11 is indexed through sixty degrees each twelve hours. The wheel 11 may also be adjusted manually by means of a wheel 17 which carries similar pins 18 and projects through the clock casing. A needle 21 on the shaft of wheel 11 indicates the wheel's position on a subsidiary dial 22. The clock also has an alarm spring winding indicator 26 which is fixed to the shaft of a toothed sector (23), Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) meshing with a pinion (24) on the shaft of the alarm spring (25).
