Abstract

1357169 Hydraulic accumulators J H MERCIER 13 Oct 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 47696/71 Heading F1D A hydropneumatic accumulator comprises a rigid pressure vessel 10 internally divided by a flexible bag 18 which is attached at neck 19. Pressurized gas is introduced into the bag 18 via inlet 13 such that it comes to rest upon upper perforated plate 24, whose apertures 25 are small enough to prevent extrusion of the bag material. The lower plate 22 has larger apertures and is thicker to give main support to the bag. Liquid under pressure is introduced via the lower inlet 14 and partially compresses the bag so as to be stored under pressure for withdrawal as required The plates 22, 24 which form a rose device 17 are retained by a ring 28, itself retained by a circlip 33 and a safety screw 26 which can act as pressure vent, Fig. 3 (not shown).
