Abstract

1357052 Plastics yarn tubes W HAMBURGER 25 Oct 1972 [25 Oct 1971] 49240/72 Heading B8M A plastics yarn tube, particularly for use in ring spinning, comprises a frusto-conical body having a wall composed of longitudinal ridges 1 and annular transverse ribs 2, the ribs 2 projecting radially beyond tangents T to adjacent ridges, which tangents extend parallel to the ribs, and is characterized in that at least near the base of the tube the ridges project radially beyond the ribs. The extent of the projection of the ridges is gradually reduced towards the apex of the tube whereby the distance Nu between the tangent T and the tangent U to the ribs remains the same. The configuration is said to facilitate removal of yarn remnants from the base of the tube.
