Abstract

1354823 Cleaning vehicle lamp glasses A GLAS 28 Jan 1972 [29 Jan 1971 31 March 1971] 4155/72 Heading A4F Apparatus for cleaning motor vehicle lamp glasses comprises a steam generator 8 for producing a mixture of steam and a cleaning and/or anti-freeze agent, and valve controlled conduits 18, 29 connecting the generator 8 to nozzles 31 for the discharge of the cleaning fluid on to headlamp glasses 2, 3. The discharged fluid impinges upon deflections 34, 35 and pivots them against the action of springs. The generator 8 comprises a fillable reservoir heated by the vehicle engine exhaust gases and supplies cleaning fluid also to the glasses of the vehicle rear lamps. In other embodiments the generator is heated electrically and separate generators are provided for supplying cleaning fluid to the rear lamps and the windscreen, respectively. For cleaning the windscreen the cleaning mixture may be fed thereto via a conduit on a wiperarm.
