Abstract
1354016 Metallurgical ladles STAL-LAVAL APPARAT AB 30 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 45494/71 Heading F4B Apparatus for the vacuum treatment of molten steel comprises a ladle 12, a lid 15 in gas-tight engagement 16 therewith, an oxy-fuel burner 16 extending through the lid and one or more electromagnetic stirrers 13 around the ladle or a porous nozzle 14 or lance supplying argon or dry air. The lid has a connection 21 to an exhaust pump which may be a multi-stage steam ejector (22, Fig. 4) preceded by a cyclone separator. The fuel may be propane, butane or a liquid, e.g. a low sulphur oil and the fuel/oxygen supply is regulated to give complete combustion.
