1353982 Shaft couplings AKADEMIE DER WISSENSCHAFTEN DER DDR 21 July 1971 34242/71 Heading F2U A torque transmitting coupling between a drive member 3 (e.g. connected to a gear 2) and a driven member 4 (e.g. connected to a mirror) comprises first and second stops 8, 7 (e.g. an end of a groove 6 and a pin 7) at a common radius on the members 3 and 4 urged together by a pre-loaded spring 11 (e.g. a U-shaped blade spring) the load in the spring increasing as the stops 7, 8 are urged apart. The member 3 may have another fixed or adjustable, stop e.g. the end 9 of the groove, to limit the loading of the spring 11. The member 4 may have a brake including a ball 13. Two or more such couplings may be provided in series.
