1349177 Tool changers S ROCCO SpA 21 Sept 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 43991/71 Heading B3B An automatic tool change apparatus for machine tools, e.g. a boring machine comprises a tool holding chain 1, a movable transfer arm 11 having three movements mutually perpendicular to each other, and a pair of collects A, B on said arm of which one effects the pick-up of the tools directly from the chain and the other the returning of the tools directly to the chain. Each roller 2 of the chain includes a conical seat for a tool. The chain may be moved in one direction only when the tools are loaded in a required machining sequence, or in both directions when the tools or the conical seats are individually coded and the tools selected under programme control.
