1348814 An extension for a fastening tool P MARKREITER 25 Nov 1971 [30 Nov 1970] 54899/71 Heading B3N An extension for a tool such as a pin spanner consists of a sleeve 1 and a shaft 2 that is axially slidable in the sleeve between positions determined by ball 5 and depressions 9. Fig. 6 shows a similar arrangement except that the shaft is rotatable in the sleeve against the action of a spring 11 that is fixed to the sleeve and has an end slidable in a slot in the shaft. The shaft can be locked with respect to the sleeve by a pin 12 connected to a resilient sleeve 13 projecting through the sleeve into depressions 19. Compression of the sides of the resilient band pushes the pin from the depressions. The extension may have a scale to show the torque applied.
