Abstract
1346281 Fusible cut-outs LUCIEN FERRAZ & CIE 19 July 1972 33714/72 Headings H2 and C1 A hollow body 1 for a cartridge fuse comprises cooling tube 6 embedded on a tubular mass of insulating material. The body may be manufactured by winding on a mandrel threads or ribbons of fibrous material (preferably glass fibres) impregnated with a hardenable (thermosetting) synthetic resin, winding on the body thus formed a cooling tube, filling the spaces between the turns of the cooling tube (if wound helically) by winding on more impregnated threads or ribbons and forming an outer cover by winding on more such material. The impregnating resin is then hardened. The cooling tube may be arranged in zig-zag form instead of helically the spaces between adjacent parts of the tube being filled by moulding. Alternatively the tube may be formed of longitudinal portions between headers. Instead of the wrapping procedure the body may be formed by injection moulding.
