Abstract

1345640 Pyrimidines SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 31 Jan 1972 [1 Feb 1971] 4421/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I wherein R represents morpholine, monoalkylamine of up to 6 carbon atoms or cycloalkylamine of up to 6 carbon atoms; R<SP>1</SP> is any of the moieties represented by R or is piperazine; or their acid addition salts and hydrates are prepared by a selected stepwise replacement of the chlorine moieties of 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine with the 2- and 4-chloro substituents being replaced first by the selected amino moieties as defined by R and R<SP>1</SP> above and then the 6-chloro substituent then being replaced by a piperazino moiety. Intermediate 6 - chloro - R - R<SP>1</SP> - pyrimidines, 2,6-dichloro - 4 - R - pyrimidines, and 4,6-dichloro-R-pyrimidines are isolated. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral, rectal and parenteral administration and having anti-inflammatory activity comprise an above novel compound and a suitable adjuvant.
