1345201 Film scraping device R CARNALL [trading as R & D CA#RNALL] 16 May 1972 [17 Feb 1971] 4797/71 Heading G2E An apparatus for removing "stripe" from a cine film includes a support (viz roller 3) over which a film 5 can be fed, a chisel-form cutter 10 whose cutting tip is adjustable relative to the roller 3 and means to position the film relative to the cutter 10 (viz flanges on roller 3). As shown idler rollers 4 may be provided and the rollers 3, 4 fitted to a vertical board 1a having a supporting base 1b. The cutter 10 is adjustable by means of screw 14 and the roller 3 may be eccentrically mounted on its stud 7 to provide further adjustment. The roller 3 is held at the desired degree of eccentricity by wing nut 15. Different rollers 3, 4 will be used for different film sizes. The apparatus may also be used for cutting a groove in a film emulsion for the subsequent attachment of a soundtrack "stripe" in the groove.
