Abstract
1342592 Excavator teeth J C BAMFORD EXCAVATORS Ltd 15 Jan 1971 [27 Jan 1970] 3866/70 Headings E1F and E1G An earth engaging tooth for an excavating implement comprises a shank attachable to the implement and having a socket whose mouth opens to the shank front, a tip mounted in the socket and wedge means, preferably a single wedge-shaped member inserted in the socket, in the same direction as the tip, to wedge the tip therein. A shank 12, welded to implement 10, is in the form of a rectangular tube forming a socket 16 in which is inserted a tip 11 whose recess 25 engages shank shoulder 17. Wedge 29 retains tip 11 in socket 16, and may be driven out of socket 16 with a tool passed through aperture 30. Tip 11 has a rib 23 on either side of wedge 29. The outer surfaces of tip 11 engage the socket walls.
