Abstract

1340376 Waste outlet fitting RUBINETTERIE STELLA SpA 16 July 1971 [20 July 1970] 33593/71 Heading A4N A waste outlet fitting comprises an upper part 1 and a lower tubular body 3 to be positioned about opposite surfaces of the bottom wall of a wash basin, bath, &c about an outlet hole therein, the upper part 1 extending through the said hole and terminating in an externally threaded tube 2 for connection to the lower tubular body, said threaded tube being screwed into an internally threaded coller 5 engaged with an upper portion 6 of the lower tubular body and connected thereto so as to be free to rotate, but not to move axially, relative to said lower tubular body. The collar 5 has an external radial flange 7 at its upper end and is formed with external flat facets which themselves form a hexagonal nut for engagement by a spanner or key. Upper and lower annular grooves 8, 9 in the collar receive a sealing ring 10 and an expanding ring 11 respectively on annular groove 12 being formed in the internal surface of the upper portion 6 to register with the groove 9 in said collar. Variations of the embodiment of Fig. 1 are depicted in Figs. 3-7 (not shown). For example, Figs. 3, 4 feature a collar with a depending cylindrical skirt portion (5a) surrounding the upper part 6 of the lower tubular body with the sealing and expanding rings 10, 11 interposed between the upper external surface of the tubular body 3 and the internal surface of the skirt portion (5a). Further variations relate to the positioning of the sealing and expanding rings 10, 11 with respect to the collar and lower tubular body Figs. 5-7 (not shown).
