Abstract

1339756 Tyre valves SCOVILL MFG CO 7 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970 20 April 1971 29 July 1971] 45783/70 10270/71 and 35775/71 Heading F2V A tubular insert 13 has undercut conical projections 15 on the surface of the lower portion thereof which are gripped by the wall of the bore 3 of the resilient housing 7 that has a hard radially expandable helical spring 2 moulded integrally therewith. The lower two turns 23 of the spring are reduced in diameter to locate the spring during moulding. In modifications the projections may be a screw thread or of square section in the form of a buttress thread and the spring may be replaced by a louvred tubular member having downwardly and inwardly tapered louvres. The insert may be glass filled nylon and the housing natural or synthetic rubber. (For Figure see next column.)
