Abstract

1434852 Screw-threading H L NAIMER 22 Feb 1974 [23 Feb 1973] 8299/74 Heading B3N [Also in Division F2] A thread or threads is or are formed on deformable ribs 6 of a socket portion 3 of a body 1 by screwing an injection-moulded nut 10 of a synthetic resin material harder than the material of the socket portion on to the ribs thereof. The nut is provided with one or more internal threads, the flanks of which are exposed axially of the nut. Both nut and socket portion may be made of a polyamide, the former being reinforced with glass fibres to make it harder. The thread of the nut may be triangular in cross-section and the nut may be provided with inclined portions 13 for facilitating screwing of the nut onto the ribs of the socket portion.
