1339195 Shearing carpets MENSCHNER GmbH 16 July 1971 [17 July 1970] 33535/71 Heading D1S A carpet shearing machine, Fig. 1, having at least one brush tool 13 and at least one shearing cylinder 11 and with a control system for producing a predetermined speed of movement of the carpet and rotary speed of the cylinder(s) 11, is characterized in that for adjustment of positioning elements 22 of the servo-control system, a control plate 32, Fig. 5, is provided which is constructed as a programme card, having a number of exchangable programme switching strips 35 which are adapted to be re-programmed by being shortened. The plate 32, Figs. 5 and 7, is provided with under-cut recesses 34 in which the strips 35 are secured by screws 36 and is inserted, in use, into a slot 40 in the machine housing 41 so that function symbols 39 on the plate 32 and the housing 41 correspond. The number of strips 35 corresponds to the number of elements 22. The strips 35 have projecting teeth on one side thereof for positive mechanical engagement with wheels 43, Figs. 4 and 7, coaxial with desired value potentiometers 44, Fig. 4. Each wheel 43 engages a transmission wheel 45 rotationally fast with a dial wheel 46 and a hand positioning wheel 47, Figs. 1 and 2. Upon angular adjustment of the potentiometers 44 a control pulse is transmitted through lines 48 to motors 27 so that these run and adjust the elements 22 to regulate oil pumps 16, 19 through levers 20. The potentiometers 44 are monitored in an electronic follow-up control system, Fig. 11 (not shown), by actual-value potentiometers 49 mounted coaxially on spindles 23 carrying the elements 22. The elements 22 are locked in position when the conformity of position of the potentiometers 44, 49 is attained and the machine may be switched on by a lever 31.
