Abstract

1338944 Foamed moulded plastics BAYER AG 16 Nov 1971 [18 Nov 1970] 53118/71 Headings C3C and C3R [Also in Divisions B5] In a process of moulding a foamed plastics article having zones of differing density, a fibrous fleece, i.e. a non-woven fabric is inserted in a mould cavity and air is sucked therefrom before introducing a foam-forming reaction mixture into the cavity which reacts to form the foam. The fleece may comprise fibres of synthetic resin, metal, boron, carbon or glass and the reaction mixture may comprise a polyurethane, an epoxy resin, vinyl-formaldehyde resin or polyamide.
