Abstract

1337466 Endless conveyers CARL SCHENCK MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 1 Oct 1971 [7 Oct 1970] 45867/71 Heading B8A A conveyer belt 1 is fed by a hopper 5 and is provided with pocket wheels 6, 7 which in cooperation with baffles 9, 10 and an enclosure 8, control material on the belt. Rollers 4 may be used for weighing the material but immediately beneath the wheels 6, 7 no roller is provided and damage due to coarse material being jammed between a wheel and the belt is avoided. To avoid accumulation of material between the wheels the wheels 7 may be driven at a peripheral speed slightly greater than that of the wheel 6; or the wheels may be of differing diameters or have pockets of differing capacities. There may be more than two wheels. The apparatus is particularly suited to handling finely divided or powdery material that also contains a proportion of coarser material.
