Abstract
1335853 Woven fabrics K T KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GmbH 23 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 1969 29 July 1970] 61042/70 Heading D1K [Also in Division B5] A woven fabric incorporates hollow inflatable tubes 1 either as warps or wefts, and after weaving a settable compound is applied to the fabric and allowed to set with the tubes inflated. The warp or weft may consist entirely of tubes, or conventional threads may be woven as warps with the tubes, Fig. 2 or form plies above and below the tubes which act as stuffers, (Fig. 3, not shown) or be woven as separate warps between the tubes (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown). The fabric may be woven in the form of a tube (Figs. 12 and 13 not shown) with the tubes 1 extending in the longitudinal direction. The threads woven with the tubes may be glass filaments. The inflation of the tubes may be produced by including in them material which can be processed to expand, as round or flat tapes, (Fig. 16 and 17) which may be disposed in separate ducts which rupture to connect with the main tubes an expansion of the material, (Figs. 18 and 19), or as a coating on the insides of the tubes (Fig. 17). Three tubes may be incorporated between adjacent weft crossings (Figs. 14 and 20). After setting of the compound layers of material (7) Fig. 11 (not shown) may be applied to either side of the fabric to produce an insulating layer.
