Abstract

1327924 Selvedge forming; shuttleless looms RUTI MACHINERY WORKS Ltd 30 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 12533/71 Heading D1E On a shuttleless loom the wefts 13 are woven with auxiliary warp ends 18 and the narrow auxiliary selvedge 21 thus formed is severed from the main fabric 15. The severing may be by scissors or a hot wire 25 and the auxiliary selvedge 21 is taken up through a tube 24 with a flattened end which reduces the shedding of at least some of the auxiliary ends. To tension the weft the auxiliary selvedge may be taken-up at a greater rate, e.g. 1.5 times, the rate of the main take-up. (For Figure see next page)
