Abstract

1335054 Electro-photographic processes XEROX CORP 17 Nov 1970 [20 Nov 1969] 54592/70 Heading G2H An electrostatic latent image on an image bearing member is developed with liquid developer, the image is transfered to a receiver, and residual developer is cleaned from the member by applying powder to the image areas only of the member and removing the powder after it has absorbed the developer. The powder is preferably triboelectrically charged and may be applied by a porous roller 25 or bilt 145, Fig.3 (not shown) and may be removed by a cleaning web 27 assisted by a corona discharge device 29, or by a blade, brush or vacuum device (all not shown). Suitable cleaning powders are listed, silica gels being prefered. A liquid developer is described comprising Drakeol ( a mineral oil), Microlith (carbon black and ester gum resin), Methyl violet tannate, Ganex (an alkylated polyvinyl pyrrolidone and Paraflint wax.
