Abstract

1,259,960. Cleaning image surfaces. RANK XEROX Ltd. Aug.25, 1969 [Aug. 26, 1968], No.42151/69. Heading G2H. A apparatus for cleaning a xerographic drum 11 has a rectangular blade 36 in pressure contact with a photo-conductive layer 12 and a bias roller 60 which is biased to attract residual toner particles. The roller 60 is engaged by a scraper 65 which removes particles for collection in a sump 66 having an auger 81 which feeds toner to a conduit 85 for reuse at the development station. A corona device 50 charges the residual toner to reduce the attraction of toner to the drum 11.
