Abstract

1333689 Endless conveyers A T ZAPPIA 20 March 1972 [22 March 1971] 13003/72 Heading B8A [Also in Division G1] Bottles carried along a conventional belt conveyer 40 are tested for strength by passing them between a conveyer belt 34 and a pressure head 63. Guides 41, 43, 44, and 42 are arranged on conveyer 40 so that during their passage in contact with conveyer belt 34, the bottles overhang the edge of conveyer 40. A guide 50 which has adjustable lips 51 and is vertically adjustable is provided for the tops of the bottles. Conveyer belt 34 comprises a pair of chains 35 mounted around sprocket wheels 31, 32 and a series of blocks 37 mounted on the chains. Each block 37 has a rubber friction facing 38. Sprocket wheel 31 is driven by motor 28 through a speed adjuster 29, and shoes 39 maintain belt 34 tensioned.
