Abstract

1333623 Ventilating roofs A J STOREY H G STOREY and D J D STOREY 8 Dec 1971 [19 Jan 1971 22 Feb 1971] 2696/71 and 5149/71 Heading E1W A vent for use on an insulated, e.g. asphalted roof has an upstanding channel- or box-sectioned body portion with a front aperture 4 and a cover 3, the vent being arranged to allow communication between the layer inlet e.g. the asphalt layer 17 and the aperture 4. The roof may have an aggregate layer 15, a topping layer 16, and the edge of the asphalt layer 17 is trowelled up under a flange 6, or into a peripheral groove below the aperture 4. A roughened layer 7 is provided, by, e.g. attaching a wire mesh to the front of the vent. The cover 3 may be removable, and has a weatherhood 5 thereon.
