Abstract
1332711 Support clamp T R COUGHTRIE 19 April 1971 [28 Feb 1970] 9794/70 Heading B4W A support clamp for a hand held tool comprises a U-shaped bracket 15 with an adjustable screw 18 in one limb, and an intermediate portion of the bracket on which are mounted arms 20 terminating in opposed flanges 21. also an adjustable member 22 is mounted on the intermediate portion for movement between two positions to cater for different sized tools. The Figure shows a tool mounted in a tapered socket of the support clamp in which it is retained by a wedging action. There is a recess 24 in the intermediate portion in which a projection 25 on the adjustable member is located. This defines one of the said positions. The other position is obtained by moving the adjustable member towards the flanges. A further projection 26 maintains the adjustable member level. Pin 23 and a spring keep the intermediate portion and the adjustable member in engagement.
