Abstract
1332669 Resilient mountings SULZER BROS Ltd 13 Oct 1970 [24 Nov 1969] 48619/70 Heading F2S A machine is resiliently mounted by at least one metallic helical spring 6<SP>1</SP> and at least one elastomeric spring 15 acting in parallel, the metallic spring being in contact with and therefore damped by the elastomeric spring. The helical spring is housed in recesses 17 in the elastomeric spring 15 and in the machine bass. In Fig. 1 (not shown), ten helical springs (6) are housed in recesses (5) in two elastomeric blocks (4) which are externally constrained over part of their height by retaining walls. Unstressed, the helical spring is longer and wider than the recess. The elastomeric spring may be made of silicone rubber or neoprene. The helical springs transmit between 85% and 95% of the total load supported by the mounting.
