Abstract
1331537 Hot blast stoves KONINKLIJKE NEDERLANDSCHE HOOGOVENS EN STAALFABRIEKEN NV 19 April 1971 [10 March 1970] 23670/71 Heading F4K In a hot blast stove comprising a vertical cylindrical refractory body surrounded by a steel jacket 1 and closed at its upper end by a steel jacketed dome 7 whose lower edge projects radially outside the upper edge of the vertical refractory body, an annular portion 11, which as shown is stepped to permit expansion, connects in a gastight manner, the dome jacket 2 to the jacket 1. The lower end of the dome jacket 2 is joined to a plurality of tongues 3 forming a continuation of the jacket 2 and constituting flanges of supporting brackets welded to the jacket 1, each bracket having a web 9 and a further flange 10. The refractory part 7 of the dome is spaced inwardly from the jacket 2 which is provided with a heat insulating layer 8. The annular portion 11 may be of plane configuration (see Fig. 3) or may have ribs (20, Fig. 5) welded thereto, these ribs being received in grooves in the lower edge of the dome (7).
