Abstract

1326563 Vehicle lamps JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 19698/70 Heading F4R A vehicle lamp comprises a hollow synthetic resin body 11 containing a metallic support member 12 of generally U-shaped configuration the base 12a of which is adjacent and parallel to the lower wall 11a of the body and the limbs of which are provided with flanges 13 attached by screws (14, Fig. 1, not shown) to bosses (10) on the body. A mounting plate 15 is secured directly to the base 12a by rivets 17 which pass through tubular spacers 20 serving to hold the plate and the base in spaced relationship on either side of the wall 11a so that no pressure is applied to the wall. The plate 15 defines, with a lamp-supporting arm 16, a ball and socket joint so that the lamp can be adjusted and clamped in the desired position by a nut (not shown) on the arm. A lens (18) and parabolic reflector (22) are screwed to a further pair of flanges 26 on the member 12.
