Abstract
1326296 Fluid operated gauges CORNING GLASS WORKS 26 May 1971 [1 June 1970] 17235/71 Heading G1M Fluid such as air supplied into a cylindrical chamber 12, Figs.1 and 2, via a tangential inlet 20, exits thro' a port 22 to produce jet shapes 30, 32 or 34 according to the relationship between the air exit velocity and the tangential velocity. The presence of an object 38 is detected by a back pressure ports 24. In Fig.3 a direction chamber 44 is provided which shapes the air jet, and Figs.4 and 5 (not shown) illustrate other shapes of direction chambers. In Figs.6 and 7 (not shown) the chamber 12 and a direction chamber are hollowed from a block.
