1325454 Internal esters DULUX AUSTRALIA Ltd 28 July 1970 [28 July 1969] 36503/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] An internal ester is derived from unsaturated esters of the formula wherein R 1 is a C 1-18 branched or linear hydrocarbon radical, R 2 and R 3 are H or a C 1-14 saturated hydrocarbon radical, R 4 and R 5 are H, Cl or CH 3 and the structure is in the cis configuration relative to the double bond contained therein; by a reaction splitting out water from the unsaturated ester. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. They are useful as monomers in the preparation of polymers.
