Abstract
1324757 Electro-depositing palladium DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 4 Feb 1972 [6 Feb 1971] 5245/72 Heading C7B Bright crack-free Pd layers are electrodeposited from a bath comprising palladium sulphite and nitrate and sulphuric acid. Preferably the bath contains 5 to 20 g/l Pd, of which palladium sulphite makes up 5 to 20%, and 40 to 100 g/l H 2 SO 4 . The sulphite can be prepared by introducing SO 2 into a suspension of palladium hydroxide in water, precipitated from palladium chloride solution with NaOH. The C. D. may be 0À5 to 2A/dm<SP>2</SP>. A platinized Ti or Pt anode may be used, the ratio of anode to cathode surface preferably being at least 2.
