Abstract
1324313 Ignition systems MITSUBISHI DENKI K K 16 Feb 1972 [23 Feb 1971] 7164/72 Heading F1B An ignition system for an internal-combustion engine comprises two current paths for applying electric current to an ignition coil 8 one of the paths containing a resistor 7. A switching circuit 9 having a control current input 10 is provided for controlling current through the ignition coil. The control current input is connected to an input terminal 2 of the path containing the resistor and a uni-directional current conducting device 14 is connected between the control current input and the input of the ignition coil whereby control current can be fed from the other path to the switching circuit 9 without passing through the resistor, when starting the engine. A second uni-directional current conducting device (not shown) may be connected between the central current input and the input terminal of the path containing the resistor. As shown, when starting, the switch 5 is turned to connect the contacts 3 and 4 and the starter motor 13 is energized.
