1324158 Edge-runner mills; roller-and-ring mills CARLE & MONTANARI SpA 22 Feb 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 8105/72 Heading B2A A mill comprises a stator A, a rotor B, rollers C mounted on the rotor for rolling engagement with the stator, inside wall 5 a material inlet and a material outlet the transverse cross-section at the outlet (taken across the axis from inlet to outlet), being greater than a corresponding cross-section at the inlet. This cross section increases between inlet and outlet either continuously Figs. 2 and 3, or stepwise Fig. 1. The stator may include passages 4 for a heating fluid. Direction of feed is indicated by arrows. A fourth embodiment includes a stator having annular concentric recesses and roller hangers 11 on a flat rotor Fig. 4.
