Abstract
1323865 Coating ferrous substrates by vapour deposition BEKAERT S A NV 6 April 1972 [15 April 1971] 9521/71 Heading C7F A ferrous substrate, e.g. a wire, rod or strip is vapour coated with Zn 1 and then vapour coated with Mg, and, if desired a further coating of Zn or coatings of Zn 1 and Mg. The two sources may be present in one chamber or two chambers may be used; the vacuum being maintained between one chamber and the other to prevent oxidation. The substrate may be first degreased, pickled or subjected to ion bombardment.
