Abstract

1323269 Making electrical connections MOLEX Inc 19 April 1971 [19 May 1970] 24781/71 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] Contact members 16 are inserted into an insulating housing and then crimped on to conductors 39 using the platform 26 in the housing as an anvil. Spring tabs 46 and flat wings 42 prevent longitudinal or rotational movement of the contact members in bores 32. The platform 26 is supported by a table 66 while the die 50 which has semi-cylindrical recesses crimps ferrules 40 over the bare conductor 39 and ferrules 36 over the insulation 38. Afterwards a hinged cover 72 encloses the crimped portions (Fig. 1, not shown).
