Abstract

1322984 Cases for contact lenses WARNER-LAMBERT CO 17 Nov 1970 [19 Oct 1970] 54706/70 Heading G2J A contact lens case comprises a cover 2 and a base portion 1, the cover having means therein defining a domed recess capable of encompassing the corneal portion of a scleral contact lens, the base portion 1 having a recess 3 of circular cross-section or, if non-circular, having a rotional inscribed circle opposed, in the closed case, to the interior of the domed recess, the circular cross-section or inscribed circle being of greater cross-section than the maximum cross-section of the domed recess, and being capable of receiving the scleral portion of the lens, the cover 2 and the base portion 1 co-operating together to enclose the lens, the cover and the base contacting, when closed, externally of the base portion recess. The two portions 1 and 2 may be hingedly connected, as shown, and a catch 17, 18 co-operating with a detent 19 provided. The recesses may both be defined by radial pieces 7 and 10 so that the case may be immersed in cleaning fluid to allow cleaning of the lens.
