Abstract

1321893 Projectiles FLIGHT REFUELLING Ltd 16 July 1971 [17 July 1970] 29995/72 Divided out of 1321892 Heading F3A A projectile for a line projecting gun comprises at its rear end a grapnel 3 having a line 5 attached thereto. The projectile also has a cylindrical body 1 and a hemispherical nose cap 2 secured thereto, the line being preferably stowed within the body and being held in its cylindrical configuration by latex or similar adhesive. The line 5 passes through slots 7 to the forward end of the projectile so that it can be secured to a location on the gun mounting. The grapnel is formed with grooves 8 which form a labrynth seal when the projectile is placed in the line projecting gun.
