Abstract

1320329 Boots &c C DUVAL 13 Oct 1970 [16 Oct 1969] 50922/69 Heading A3B A boot or shoe or an insert for fitting therein has a heel portion in the form of a chamber 10 with at least its upper wall made of a flexible or resilient moisture absorbent material and at least one conduit 12 connected thereto, whereby pressure on the upper wall expels air from the chamber 10 and relief of the pressure draws air thereinto. In a first embodiment (Fig. 1) an insole has a hollow wedge heel portion 10, a hollow flat forepart 11 and a tube 12 connected to the toe end of the forepart 11 or to the forward end of the wedge. In a second embodiment (Fig. 3) the heel is formed with a hollow chamber 10a which is covered by a resilient layer 11, a tube 12 being connected to the space between the layer 11 and the sole.
