Abstract

1319612 Roof lights; stud and socket fastenings MOTO PLASTICS Ltd 18 May 1971 [19 May 1970] 24034/70 Headings E1R and E2B Attachment means for securing two parts of an assembly together, e.g. a roof light 28 to its base 30, consists of a clamp 10 having a clamping nose 12 and a plug 14 and a detent 18 lockable in an aperture in the flange 34 of the base 30 and comprising a split annular band 20 having lugs 22 and shoulders on the upper ends of claws 24, which lugs and shoulders sandwich between them the flange 34 surrounding the roof light opening in the base 30, the claws being resilient so that when the plug 14 is passed through the aperture and the detent, the clamping nose 12 is operative to secure the light 28 to the flange 34 and the claws are resiliently displaced to resist withdrawal of the plugs. The clamp and detent mechanisms are spaced at intervals around the flange 34 of the base 30 and washers 36 may be provided to spread the loading applied by the claws.
