Abstract
1319282 Hot-dip galvanizing KUEI FAN YU 10 June 1970 28100/70 Heading C7F In a method of hot-dip galvanizing, a stream of non-oxidising or substantially non-oxidizing gas is delivered from a gas outlet 4 into a region immediately above the surface of the bath 5 and is withdrawn by suction from said region; this prevents oxidation of the zinc. The protective gas may be flue gas, and may be removed by suction at 6 and vented at 7 as shown, or may be partially or wholly recycled. Apparatus for the process comprises a vessel for holding molten zinc 5 and having an open top, an input duct 4 for gas and a suction duct 6; a gas supply 1 and meter 2, supply fan 3 and venting or recycling fan 7.
