Abstract

1318124 Baling machines WELGER Gebr 16 June 1971 [18 June 1970] 28318/71 Heading B5F A pick-up baler comprises a main drive shaft 14 having a pinion 20 meshing with an outer ring of gear teeth 19 of a crown wheel 16 which has an inner ring of teeth 21 meshing with two bevel gears 24 mounted on shafts 22, 23 adapted to drive components of the baler. Thus the shaft 22 drives a transverse conveyer 6, 7 and a knotting device 33 through bevel gearing 26 and a shaft 27, and the shaft 23 drives a pick-up device 4 through bevel gearing and a universal joint shaft 35. The shafts 22, 23, 27 are hexagonal in section and fit into hexagonal holes in the gear wheels.
