Abstract

1317174 Assembling sectional masts POTAIN 22 May 1970 [27 May 1969] 24782/70 Heading B8B [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] Posts 3, 5, forming part of mast sections 1, 2, Fig. 1 (not shown), are secured together by straps 11 and lugs 7, 8. The lugs 7 overlap the end of the post 5, the lugs 8 being set back so that the post 3 is positioned laterally by portions 7a of the lugs 7. Each strap 11 is pivoted on an eccentric 16 and is swung from its inoperative position, Fig. 5, to its working position, Fig. 6, being connected to the post 5 by a pin 14. The eccentric 16 is then rotated to place the strap 11 under tension by wedge action, The pin 14 may be replaced by a second eccentric 16, Fig. 10 (not shown).
