Abstract

1315148 Vehicle window weather strips GEBR HAPPICH GmbH 5 June 1970 [6 June 1969] 27229/70 Heading E1J A weather strip for the well of a sliding window in a vehicle, comprises a main strip 2 having an outer portion 2b which is bent to cap the upper outer edge of the well 1 and two sealing members 3 and 4 whose roots are held within an inner portion of the main strip 2, each member 3, 4 carrying a wiping strip 9, 5 which bears against the window 6, wherein the member 3 has a resilient free portion 3c carrying the strip 9 and having a sealing lip 7 which bears against the window, the portion 3c being flexible independently of the member 4 and strip 2, and the free edge 3b of the member 3 bears on the portion 2b of the strip 2. The main strip 2 preferably has a U-shaped inner portion. The wiping strip 9 may be retained in a T-section or dovetail groove 10 in the free portion 3c of the member 3.
