Abstract

1314386 Offshore structures AKERS MEK VERKSTED AS 2 July 1970 [3 July 1969] 32211/70 Heading E1H A drilling platform has a deck 5, hollow pontoons 1 in triangular formation and resting on subaqueous ground, hollow columns 2 with downwardly-extending parts 3, and a framework 4 comprising a nest of vertically-movable sections 7', 7", 7"' to facilitate assembly and transportion of the platform, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The pontoons and columns can be used as buoyancy, ballast or storage tanks. A second embodiment, Fig. 4, has two parallel pontoons 10 and four columns 11 interconnected by tubes 12 so as to minimize resistance when the platform is being towed. Other embodiments, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) differ from the second one mainly in regard to the details of the framework sections. (For Figures see next page)
