Abstract

1314179 Contacting gases with liquids IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 30 Oct 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 56089/69 Heading B1R [Also in Division F4] A rectangular corrugated plastics packing sheet has a corrugated portion A with castellated edges B each comprising flat attachment portions 11 arranged alternately on opposite sides of the medial plane of the sheet. Adjacent attachment portions 11 are interconnected by planar connecting portions 12. The packing sheet is also provided with one or more castellated stiffening ribs C which extends in a longitudinal direction between the top and bottom edges of the sheet. The rib C is of similar construction to the edge B and has attachment portions 14 which may have a planar or corrugated surface. The sheet may be produced by vacuum forming. In use a plurality of sheets are stacked in abutting relation with the flat portions 11 and 14 of one sheet registering with the flat portions 11 and 14 respectively, of an adjacent sheet. The sheets can be secured together at the registering portions by adhesive or spot welding.
