Abstract

1313457 Teat cup liner NORTON CO 19 Nov 1971 53856/71 Heading AIM A teat cup liner 10 comprises a tubular body portion 14 for connection to a claw at 15, a teat engaging collar 18, and a cylindrical cuff portion 16 which is folded down over the teat cup shell 12; the collar 18 extending inwardly and upwardly from the junction of portions 14, 16 and having an inner periphery 20 which is generally circular as viewed from above. The inner periphery 20 is of substantially uniform thickness and is formed as a series of up, 22, and down, 24, undulations; preferably sinusoidal, but in any case free from any sharp angles that would cause stress concentration points when the vacuum phase of pulsation applied to tube 13 causes the collar to flex downwards. The undulating edge can respond to the expansion and constraction forces caused by the pulsation and reduce the occurence of stress cracking.
