Wire-strainers.-In a straining-device for aeroplane stay-wires comprising threaded sleeves engaging a right and left handed straining-screw t, the forked and eye members, adapted to engage respectively the wiring plate j and the loop p of the cable, are formed from similar blanks a comprising a pear-shaped portion d, a cylindrical body b, and a flange c. In forming a forked member, a central slot is cut therein, flats 9 are formed by milling away the exterior parts of the bulbous portion, and a hole h drilled to receive the securing-pin i. The eye end is constructed by cutting flats n in the blank to leave a central portion u in which is drilled a hole o having sides flared to conform to the loop p of the cable q. Both portions are threaded to engage the screw t.
