Abstract

455,165. Union nuts. KENT, W. H., Grafton Cottage, North Newington, near Banbury, Oxfordshire. Aug. 7, 1935, No. 22252. [Class 89 (i)] A union nut is formed in two parts each having a male and female formation running the whole height thereof the two parts being slid in dovetail fashion into each other to interlock and form a complete unit. The male formation is formed with a circular cross section connected by a reduced neck to the nut part, and the female shape corresponds thereto. The two parts are shaped so that when assembled the line through the centres of the cylindrical parts passes across the corner of the complete nut. When the two parts are assembled the thread and the flange locate and lock the two parts in position.
