Abstract

1313122 Electrostatic printing; stencilling apparatus ELECTROSTATIC PRINTING CORP OF AMERICA 4 Feb 1971 3954/71 Heading B6C In a method of electrostatically printing a multicolour image on to a substrate 40 through a screen 36, the differently coloured pigments are contained within walls 20 defining the various image areas. The image may be solely defined by the walls or, alternatively, the screen 36 may be imaged, in which case the walls will conform approximately to the image areas. The substrate may be backed by a conductive plate (38). Iron particles 34 maybe dispersed in the pigment and a magnet 46 employed to move these particles and so aid passage of pigment through the screen and into the influence of the electrostatic field. The walls 20 may be assembled on and supported in a resilient layer 12 carried on an epoxy-fibreglass board 14.
